James R. Durbin

James R. Durbin was born January 21, 1942 in Battle Creek, Michigan. He graduated with honors from high school and Junior College in that city. In 1962 he transferred to the University of Michigan on a scholarship, graduating in 1966 magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. From 1966 to 1968 he attended Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan obtaining a Masters degree in Business Administration, with a major in General Business.

Prior to joining Beltway Development Company in May, 1981, Mr. Durbin was a partner and Chief Financial Officer of a recreational boat manufacturer in Plano, Texas, which he and four other executives purchased from Chrysler Corporation in a leveraged management buyout.

From 1968 to 1979, Mr. Durbin held various financial executive positions with Chrysler Corporation in Brazil, Peru and Venezuela.

Mr. Durbin is a partner in Beltway Commercial Real Estate as well as a substantial portion of Beltway’s investments. His responsibilities include accounting, financing, investment analysis, legal, tax and insurance management, and bank relations.

He is a member of Tau Beta Pi and Pi Tau Sigma National Honorary Engineering Societies, and has been active in various business associations.
